About Evan P. Carlson:
Lighting Designer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Currently the Assistant Professor of Lighting Design for Western Michigan University, Department of Theatre and Dance.
As a designer Evan believes in the power of storytelling through lighting and the connection of Actor, Audience, Stage, and Story. As an educator and mentor, Evan believes in the individual student’s past, present, and future as a paving stone for their design aesthetic. Each student is to be unique, individualistic, and carved of their own stone, supported throughout their growth as an artist.
With a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Design and Technical Production with a Focus in Lighting Design for Dance at Western Michigan University Graduated 2017, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
With a Masters of Fine Arts at University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Graduated 2020, Cincinnati, Ohio
